Teaching Safeguarding and Wellbeing through Health and Wellbeing

  • Develop resilience and perseverance to keep trying and applying knowledge through practise
  • Increase own self esteem and achieve a personal best by not comparing themselves to others
  • Know how to keep safe online and in the real world
  • Know when not to share personal information
  • Know how to respect the physical space of others
  • Recognise who are trusted adults in times of need
  • Manage friendships including how to manage social situations including playtimes, arguments and difference of opinion
  • Develop respect and trust through behaviour and responses
  • Resist negative pressure from peers
  • Regulate own behaviour and emotional responses
  • Know how to call the emergency services and the importance of doing so wisely and safely
  • How to maintain positive emotional and physical health and hygiene
  • Become supportive citizens who listen to others with respect and live comfortably with difference
  • Be respectful of money and recognise the value of a resource
  • Understand how certain drugs can be dangerous and the difference with those that are prescribed and always act with safety in this area
  • Recognise that families take many different forms
  • Show empathy and respect for differences of opinions
  • Read body language and facial expressions to develop empathy
