Subtracting or 'taking away'

 

The Subtraction Powerpoint would be a good starting place for your child as a recap as to what subtracting means and what happens when amounts are 'taken away'. 

Subtraction Stories puts subtraction sentences into a First, Then, Now story which breaks down the steps of subtracting clearly. For example: First there were 5 frogs, Then 2 jumped away, Now there are 3 frogs left.
